We spent some time in Dahab (Egypt) on the Red Sea. At that stage in our life we only had one child and she was just 1-year-old. Admittedly, I had initial concerns travelling to the Sinai with a baby, but it turned out to be a wondrous escape without any hardship whatsoever (and it is an experience that I intend to document and share in more detail soon).
Dahab is a small town located on the Sinai Peninsula. The rugged mountainous desert terrain that surrounds the town, combined with the vibrant blue sky and crystal blue waters of the Red Sea truly makes it a place that imprints on the memory. Here are some of my favourite photos taken in Dahab and the surrounding area, and I must credit my husband here as he was the photographer of these great memories.

I spent a couple of weeks in Dahab many moons ago — did any of the restaurants give you water guns to fend off the stray cats when you were there?
I can’t imagine taking a baby to Egypt – you are very adventurous!! Fabulous photography.
Hi Raymond, I don’t recall any of the restaurants giving us water guns, but I have been asked this question before. The amount of strays is phenomenal! Our big problem was trying to keep our animal obesessed child away from them (more for the cats’ safety). If you look closely at the photo of her with the cat she has a few scratches on her forearms. I think the cats were the highlight of the trip for her!
Kudos to you for being so adventurous with a baby! That last photo is strikingly beautiful.

I think the cute little baby enjoys riding on a camel and likes playing with the cat. She looks adorable. Well Dahab is full of wonders and beauty. I love the underwater photo. This is a great post!
