Piran Coastline at Night, Slovenia

We have just spent 3 weeks of our summer in Slovenia and I have to say that this little country will make our family adventure very memorable. For a tiny nation, Slovenia has a huge variance in its landscape and offers a lot of wonderful things to see and do. We had experienced lakes (Lake Bled), city (Ljubljana), beach (Piran) and mountains (Bovec and the Soca River valley) and it feels like we had spent time in 4 different countries. We had also made numerous day trips to other areas of Slovenia, such as Lake Bohinj (the country’s largest glacial lake), Lipica (home to the famous snow-white Lipizzaner horses) and Ptuj (a medieval town in the Eastern wine region).

The following pictures offer a very small taste of some of the amazing scenery that we saw in our travels and I will be posting more about the details in the future. Slovenia is a beautiful country with welcoming people and it’s a safe place to travel with kids. We all agreed: we will definitely be back in the very near future. For now however, it’s back to the sandpit of Dubai we head!
